Graduating in the class of 2023 from Parsons School of Design in New York City, interdisciplinary artist Abby is our painter and design thinker. Experimenting with a variety of skills and work processes, she is interested in forms of participation and reportage as a kind of pedagogy, curating her process to combine methodical techniques and free form experimentation. When making things, she likes to perform like there’s no one watching, working between the boundaries of play versus serious work.

Growing up between the US, UK and Costa Rica, she learned to paint outside with her Scottish grandfather, discovering that climbing into cow fields or sitting by the seaside becomes a magical practice of observation through painting. Capturing our jungle with her loving gaze, Abby is creating a growing series of works exclusively for the Nereus community.

A fan of chasing natural highs, she is an avid aerial artist and snowboarder.
